A day filled with modern design, bold colours and a lot of laughter. Sophie wore a Halfpenny London skirt that had been made into a dress by Kavelle Bridal Couture. Beautiful autumn colours by Planet Flowers and a Gin themed, calligraphy detailed table setting added to the grandeur of Mansfield for dinner. The perfect Edinburgh city centre wedding.

This is when I knew this was going to be no ordinary wedding...
A Scottish Highland engagement.

Read More2017 has been so full of big, creative, laughter filled moments that take so much planning and care to achieve but also loads of those little, poignant moments you can't plan for. I've been so lucky to witness and capture these for all the amazing people who have entrusted me to document their wedding day. Sometimes its not about the dramatic mountain backdrops, expensive dresses and fancy venues, its about the magic that happens when you put a bunch of people who really love each other in a room together and turn the music up.

The greenery, the love, the traditional Scottish hand fastening. This wedding at The Cow Shed Crail had it all.
Read MoreI feel like most of my wedding stories start with rain...but equally it has absolutely never ruined anyone's day! Sadly in Scotland you can never plan for the weather so being flexible and not willing to let it get you down or keep you stuck inside is definitely the way to go.
Read MoreI first met Sophie when I took some photos of her Swing Band earlier in the year. It got me really excited for their wedding in the heart of Edinburgh as I knew that they would want to make the most of the lively Royal Mile and the square outside Lothian Chambers where street performers often gather... I also knew that Simon had an idea for a performance of their own.

Read MoreTim and Emily's wedding took place in the tiny village of Stretton, just outside Peterborough. With everything in walking distance, we had the perfect day of sunshine to make the most of the beauty of the countryside surroundings. I arrived on Friday night to find the bridal party busy decorating the marquee which was in the middle of the field behind Emily's house. A Pinterest dream, the place was decorated with greenery, classy white table settings and a hay bale lined outdoor seating area where guests could relax by fire pits in the evening...
Read MoreI've had the absolute joy to get to photograph The Kelly family quite a few times. I first photographed Liam when he was just 10 days old, and after that a few times over the next two years. Now, Beni has arrived in to the family and I caught up with them again to photograph him at the same age that I first met Liam.
Read MoreWhen David and Alice said that they were planning to have their reception at The National Museum of Scotland I was so excited. I have been visiting there my whole life and it was like a childhood dream come true getting to walk around it after closing hours.

Read MoreI love capturing normal life, natural reactions and real fun. These guys are the best at that. They have set a tradition where every Saturday morning they have pancakes together and then go for a walk. Isn't that the best idea ever? I think so. I went to join Tom, Hannah, Charlie and Grace for some excellently made pancakes followed by a wet and misty walk. The Scottish weather didn't dampen their spirits though and we had a great time on the beach together.
