NATURAL FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY
Recently my grandad gifted me hundreds of photographic slides of his life. Some were of him and my granny before they got married (over 60 years ago!) and some were of my dad growing up with his siblings - them at the beach, sitting in a wheel barrow while their house was being renovated, standing on the doorstep before the new term of school started. I had known that cliche'd phrase “memories last a life time” but here I was, sitting in that very same house 60 years on looking at these slides through a tiny viewfinder and seeing not just my dad’s memories but my Papa’s too.
It made me stop and think about those moments that you have with your family; the every day silliness, cuddles, bath times and story times that rarely go recorded. And that’s where I come in. I want to record for you, the moments that pass you by so that when you look back at your family photos you can feel the memory: the soft skin of your new baby, the firm hug of the child you’re now sending off to uni or just the feeling of freedom and happiness as you spend time together.
Family session
A documentary session at home, outside or a bit of both. We’ll hang out for an hour or so and I’ll photograph you in a candid, documentary style. You can spend the time baking, reading a story or just hanging out in your house and garden, or we can go for a walk, let the kids (and grown-ups) run wild and get mucky. This session includes very little posing but there will be a few obligatory smiling at the camera photos for granny’s mantlepiece. These sessions include an online gallery of at least 50 edited images with full print rights. You can book, ask questions and check my availability by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.

Booking
Due to Covid 19 sessions are limited and will follow criteria in line with Scottish Government Phase 3 guidelines.
Sessions will take place in a space where social distancing will remain at all times. Currently I am unable to offer indoor sessions. The session will be rescheduled if either I or any member of the party is displaying symptoms of Covid 19 or has been in contact with someone who has tested positive. A location will be agreed on in advance and we will always plan for it to take place somewhere where social distancing and hygiene measures can be adhered to.
I’m currently taking a break from Doorstep sessions to finish off some other projects I have on the go but I may do some more later in the year. Keep an eye on my Instagram page for details of dates and areas.
